Is this an okay upgrade? I know 225/50/16 is a better fit but that's just too wide and aggressive so I was looking for something in between.

My main concern is speedometer error. I think the tire diameter on my 205/55/16's is 25". I'm looking at replacing them with 215/55/16 Dunlop Sport A2's which have a diameter of 25.2". Is that an acceptable difference and will it play havoc on my speedometer and odometer?

I've found that some 205's measure as low as 24.8" and some 215's measure as high as 25.5" in overall diameter! So I figure the .2" difference in the set up I'm looking at should be okay? Any thoughts?

The overall diameter difference between 205/55/16's and 215/55/16's is usually like 0.5 or 0.6 in which case your speedo would be off by more. But, in your case, since you've found tires that only produce a .2 difference you're in great shape and I would go for the upgrade.

Goes to show you that each manufacturer's tires will vary a little bit even when comparing apples and apples. For example Dunlop Sport A2 215/55/16's overall diameter is 25.2", Michelin Pilot 215/55/16's overall diamteter is 25.5", that's a difference of .3" in the exact same size tire!
