I have a new set of Ronal RT 17" X 7.5".
I have been told that the 215's are the recommended size.
I've been told that the 225 are recommended but are a little small in height.
I've been told that the 235 will look good.
I have been told that the 235's fit perfect on 8" but will billow out from the rim on 7.5". Obviousely I am now confused and just not sure which to get. Recommendations and PICS would be great !!!

I want the tires to match the rims properly, where the tires don't billow out from the wheels like they do when I went from 205's to 225's on my stock 5 spoke 16"

I am planning on Toyo Proxy 4's all season(or something like that)

225/45, go with what the factory uses.

You have to have an 8" rim width for 235. 225/45-17 are the way to go.

215s are a bit narrow and are tough fitment to match the OE rolling diameter (plus, not all brands will stock the correct size) ... 235/40s work, even on 7.5" rim widths (I'm mounting 235/40 PZeros on my 7.5" wide S4 Avus wheels) ... but, with the concerns you listed and your specific setup, 225/45 is probably your best bet. RTs have the same dimensions as OE S4 Avus wheels (17x7.5) ... Here's what 225/45s look like on those:
