I just got a bent wheel repaired and rebalanced, and now my car shakes profusely when driving around 50mph to 55mph, and just a little bit when driving outside that speed range. I feel it mainly in the steering wheel, shifter, and seats. Also when I brake it shakes a lot between 55mph to 50mph, but goes away after those speeds. All tires are less than 6 months, about 75% tread, 225/40/18. Wheels are 18x8. Please help, TIA. I will be changing out my tie rod ends and front upper control arms within a week along with an alignment, could that be the problem - even though the shaking didn't happen until after the wheel repair?

My guess is they didn't do a good job balancing. I've had to return 4-5 times to places that just slapped it together and didn't spend enough time balancing.

Rotate the tires front to back, could help in figuring out if it is the tire or wheel.

I have exact same situation. Only noticable at 65 mph. Wheel is bent. I have rotated it to the back (problem is gone) while I search for new one.

To answer some of the questions: wheel is not bent anymore, it was fixed. I don't know how long ago it was bent because the bend was on the inside rim and was not visible until the tire went flat and I took the wheel off of the car. I'm hoping that the wheel repair shop just didn't balance the wheel, problem solved; and not anything major. I will go back today and find out, because I paid for it to be balanced. *fingers crossed*
