Been calling several Discount Tire shops here in Austin, TX. They are too busy to give me the time of day. They say they will call Ace and then call me back, but "never get around to it" I guess I need face time.

Ace's importer won't sell direct to me. They recommended a dealer here in town that wanted $750 just for the wheels. That's $187 a wheel, which seems out of line with what folks have paid before.

What have people been paying for them lately?

Here is a mailorder place that was posted a couple of weeks ago: <a href="http://www.superbuytires.com">Super Buy Tires</a> They have Ace Lolas for $162/ea plus $60 shipping (per 4) just for the wheels.

I just ordered a set from a local wheel/tire place and they are charging me $185/wheel. I did negotiate free mounting and balancing (I already have tires) so it comes out just a litle more than if I mailordered them and had to get tires mounted and balanced (usually $15/wheel).

I really liked the ACE Lola at the $140-150 price that other Audiworld readers have purhcase them. I still like them at $185 but I just hope their quality is up to par. Plus the local tire place is taken a while to get them...

I posted the URL for Super Buy Tires about 2 weeks ago after searching several hours for an online Ace distributor. Unfortunately their shipping prices are pretty ridiculous... $80 for wheels alone, or $150 for wheel/tire packages.

I instead called several local tire shops if they could custom order the Lolas for me. Found a shop that charged $167 per rim and managed to negotiate for free labor, too. I wound up buying AEZ Radon's instead (also custom ordered), but now I know where to turn to next time.
