Default Wider tires to protect rims?

Since the S4 rims seem to scratch so easily, wouldn't running a slightly wider tire offer some protection for them? (like a 235 vs stock 225) Would this look really 'off' (it's only 10mm if I'm understand sizing correctly) or cause any problems?

Thanks for any feedback...

Default helps some, but ...

it's fairly easy to scratch a rim on a curb, even with the wider tire width. in fact, i think i'm a little more careful since i know i have no margin for error.

to answer your question though, no it wouldn't look weird -- a number of people are running 235's on the stock 17x7.5's.
