This thread is sixteen-years-old now. The OP or person making the first reply might not see your new post/question. And, your last post (last evening) only gives about a 12-hour window to receive the reply. If you are asking about tire width: The best ratio of tire width to wheel width is 120% (on wide side) to 90% (on narrow side). A 225 or 235 tire will fit an 8" or 8.5" wheel.
An important factor is the wheel's offset. The wrong offset results in pushing the wheel in or out too far and possibly rubbing fenders or interference with brakes or suspension.
On the "wide side" you could go with a 235mm tire on an 8" to 8.5" wheel with about a +38 offset. Your tire dealer will probably balk at those sizes and measurements. They will want you to select a more conservative setup (closer to the stock maximum setup which is a 225mm tire on a 7.5" wheel with +38 offset).
Other factors to consider:
1. Manufacturers' tire specifications can vary slightly. A 235mm tire from one manufacturer may have the same tread-width as a 225mm tire from a different manufacturer.
2. A wheel that is 0.5 inches wider than another wheel extends only 0.25" more inboard and outboard.
3. 10mm makes very little difference when mounting the tire since it is only 5mm (a fraction of an inch) more inboard and outboard.
