Default Will a 18" x 8.5" rim fit a 2004 A4 ultrasport?

It has a 44mmm offset however i can remove a spacer and get a 38mm offset as well which i was told is better for the A4.
Any Thoughts?
Thanks
Ben

Default you'd have to ADD a spacer to decrease the offset.

ET38 will probably work. ET44 on an 8.5" wide rim will most likely rub on the inside.

Default 18x8.5 will fit however

Pete's right though that the offset may push the wheel too far inside the wheel well (although the stock OEM wheels have an et43 offset which is only a bit more aggressive).

Ideally, you want to be at around et35.
