Will 225/45/17 tires work on 17x7.5 wheels (A4/B7)?

Anyone running 225/45/17 winter tires instead of 235/45/17?
Tirerack recommends either 235/45/17 or 215/55-16, but nothing in between.
I am running 235/45/17 summers on 17x7.5 (A4 S2.0T/2007) but have an opportunity of getting a great deal on some Michelin Pilot Alpin PA2 (225/45/17). What about load index (min = 91?)
Also, there are more choices in 225 sizes for winters
Thx

The original tires on the car have a load index of 94-98. The 91 load index tires still carry enough load capacity to meet the vehicles gross axle weight rating, but that rating is technically lower than what Audi uses as OE so some local installers may be reluctant to install them for you.
