Winter tire help, M3 or LM25

Winter tire help, M3 or LM25
I live in a northern city featuring fairly cold average temperatures, moderate snowfalls with a few heavy dumps thrown in for good measure, and city streets that are soon cleared for the most part. But of course, one will encounter the odd icy patch. I need to choose a tire size of 225/45/18 for my C6 A6 to fit my wheels. After some research I am leaning towards either Dunlop M3 or Blizzak LM25.
Anyone out there with any insight?

These are very similar in handling and snow traction. The LM25 may have a slight advantage in snow, but even this difference is pretty small.

winter

I have M2's and they're great
Great grip in snow. I took the car out during the few snowstorms (and after before they plowed) we were having in CT this past winter and they kept me confident.
Ive tested them and the quattro by putting two tires on ice and two on dry tarmac and I had little slip.
They're wearing really well after 3 winters.

What about Dry traction??
Gary,
What about in the dry between the two compounds? Some of us who live in the snowy areas of the Midwest spend over 95% of our snow season driving on DRY roads. I am willing to trade off some max snow/ice grip in exchage for better dry handling. My original Pilot Alpins are looking a little tired after 5 seasons of winter duty and it is time for a new set!

Look up Nokian WR...
The WR are as good as the M3 and LM25 in the snow, and are much better than the M3 and LM25 in the dry.
HOwever, the M3 and LM25 are not bad in the dry compared to Q rated winter tires.
In my Opinion.. best to worst for your scenario:
Nokian WR > Dunlop Wintersport M3 > Bridgestone Blizzak LM25 > Michelin Pilot Alpine
