Would a 245/40/17 work on the stock 17X7.5 S4 wheel?

I'm thinking of putting the BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KD.
Or would u choose the Bridgestone Potenza S-02 Pole Position in 235/40ZR17?
Any other suggestions??

245 seems kinda wide to run on a 7.5" rim. I have 225s on a 8" rim (admittedly little rim protection)
The 245/40R17 does more closely relate the 225/45R17 stock tire circumference than does the 235/40R17:
Diameter in mm:
225/45R17 = 634.3
235/40R17 = 619.8
245/40R17 = 627.8
How close is the stock tire to rubbing? Going to 245 width would bring the tire 1 cm closer.

Mark P

Hopefully, mine arrive today. I rode in donp's car over the weekend and liked them. They are over an inch wider than the factory 225/45 RE040's.
