Default XPOST - Thoughts on tire pressures at the track. Comments please.....

Given the fact that at the track, and the tire temp will be WAY high, you should have MORE air in the back to get oversteer right?

You can decrease traction by having either too MUCH or too LITTLE pressure. I'm thinking that, given the fact that tire temps are so high at the track, I'm better off going for a reduction in traction in the rear using the TOO MUCH PRESSURE approach.

I'm thinking maybe 38 front, 40 rear or maybe a 3 PSI spread. Thoughts?

Default I ran 40/40 and 40/42 last fall...38 may be too low for trackk

Even at 40/42 I had trouble getting the car to rotate like I wanted. I now have the 19mm Neuspeed rear bar and plan to auto-x this weekend and will try both. If it is dry I should have a good feel for which is better.

Yeah, I've got the 19mm bar now too. I'll let you know what works for me.

This turn 6 Laguna Seca about 70mph. slight bank allowed for holding as much speed as you could on this uphill section of the track. Good track out area so keeping your foot in it was the ticket.
note the balance of the car while drifting.

looks good to me.

my instructor spun-out here with me in his car (Type R) 8-)

Default Ammendment...

38 - or less, cold, may be right if you get to warm up the tires a lot, such as if doing multiple laps. Auto-x style events dont really get the tires hot because of the format so the higher cold pressure is needed.

Default Mark, one other thing about the RE730's.

They will howl a lot once they are warm and you are pushing them, this is normal. When they start to squeel, you know they are at the point of breakig away. At least this was my experience.
