Audi A3: How to Replace Parking/Side Marker Lights
The side marker lights don't look great with that ugly orange cover. Here's how you can replace your parking/side marker light's bulb and cover.

The Audi A3 is a fantastic looking car, but there is one thing that's not so fantastic about its look, and that's the old fashioned orange side marker lights. You can now get clear side marker lights that are just as effective without spoiling the look of your car. Give your European ride some extra Euro flair with clear corners. Materials Needed
- Replacement parking/side marker light bulb/cover
- Soft pry tool
- Masking tape
Step 1 – Remove old parking/side marker light
Using your soft pry tool, start prying the orange side marker cover from the outside edge. Then, carefully pull the rest of the cover away from the bumper. The bulb is attached to the cover. Simply pull the bulb out and set aside the cover. To replace the bulb, pull the bulb from the socket.
Pro Tip
If you're at all worried about scratching the car, cover the area around the side marker light with masking tape. Alternatively, you can push out the side marker cover by removing the fog light panel and reaching around to the side marker.
Step 2 – Install new parking/side marker light
Do the reverse of the previous step to install the new parking/side marker light. If you're replacing the bulb, plug the new bulb into the bulb socket. If you're replacing the cover, attach the new cover over the bulb socket. To reinsert the cover to the car, you'll need to line up the tab on the side of the cover with the car and carefully push it in. The tab should snap back into place. When finished, test the parking lights to make sure that the bulb is functioning correctly.
