10 Reasons Why the C8 RS 6 Avant is the Best Audi Ever Made!

Audi has given the world many fantastic cars over the years. Audi vehicles have a history of advanced technology, innovation, and terrific performance. So, how in the world do you pick a single model as the best ever? It is not an easy task, that is for sure. But what we did was try to determine what Audi offers the most advanced technology, innovation, and performance. Yet is still practical enough to be a daily driver. And that led us to the current C8 generation RS 6 Avant. It is a home run of a car from Audi, and we have a list of ten reasons why we think it is the best ever. Of course, Audi has made quite a few terrific cars, so we may revisit this choice in the future. But for now, the RS 6 Avant is our selection. Do you agree? 10. Americans Can Buy It

Before the C8 generation RS 6 Avant was the C7, C6, and C5. But here in the United States, all those previous generations were off-limits to us. Finally, Audi listened to our prayers and delivered us the current generation RS 6 Avant. It is the first RS Avant that we could buy and that is a big reason why we feel it is one of the best cars ever. It is tough to rank a vehicle that you can’t buy.  

9. Adaptive Air Suspension

The Audi RS 6 Avant comes standard with an adaptive air suspension setup. The air suspension can be set in various modes and also has an automatic leveling control. In the standard modes the RS 6 Avant already sits 20 millimeters lower than a standard A6 Avant. But at high speeds or when set by the driver the ride height is dropped a further 10 millimeters. On a crappy road? The suspension can be raised by 20 millimeters above the normal height to improve comfort. Want even more control? Order the optional RS sport suspension plus with Dynamic Ride Control. This improves performance even more with steel springs and three-way adjustable dampers that help limit roll and pitch.

8. Technology

The Audi RS 6 Avant is packed with the latest technology. You get the virtual cockpit plus with a 12.3-inch HD display. Audi connect is a full suite of digital services that includes features such as the ability to determine how long you will be sitting at a red light. On the RS 6 Avant Performance you can add a head-up display to show you all critical information in your field of vision. And this is just the tip of the iceberg. If you are the type of person that enjoys all the latest and greatest features, this is your Audi.  

7. Sleeper

You and I know how special the Audi RS 6 Avant is. But in the real world, normal people see it as just a nice Audi wagon. They are totally unaware of the beast within. There is no huge spoiler, or NACA ducts in the hood, or anything else that would tip off the casual observer to the performance capabilities this car possesses. Everyone that sets eyes on an Audi R8 knows it is a performance machine. But the RS 6 Avant can happily glide under the radar. Until you happen to bump into another Audi fan. Especially in this day and age of the all-electric vehicle, the sound a performance car makes is critical to its enjoyment. Combine that V8 engine under the hood with the optional RS sport exhaust system and you are in for an aural treat. This car sounds fantastic and the days of an Audi sounding this good are numbered.

SUVs are everywhere. And there are now plenty of super-performing SUVs from the likes of Ferrari and Lamborghini. (And, of course, Audi.) But a wagon is so much cooler than an SUV, even a super SUV. Plus, the wagon has the handling advantage of not sitting as high up in the air as an SUV. Fast wagons have a cool factor that not even the most exotic SUV can match.

Name a better looking, more aggressive wagon. Yeah, we can’t either. Looks are subjective, but we think that most will agree that this is a handsome wagon. The 2024 RS 6 Avant Performance hits you with 621 horsepower. There is not another Audi that uses an internal combustion engine that makes more power than that. And with the company going full speed ahead into EVs, likely, it will forever remain the most powerful internal combustion in an Audi. But even if it is eclipsed someday, can you really complain about 621 horsepower? That is more than what you get in a Porsche 911 Turbo.

2. Wagon Practicality

This car has power, speed, looks, sound, technology, but it still has enough cargo room to take a family of four and their luggage on a week-long vacation. You don’t need an SUV for the space. This wagon has all-wheel drive, so you don’t need an SUV for bad weather conditions. This wagon makes a similarly priced SUV irrelevant.

The RS 6 Avant has wagon practicality but supercar performance capabilities. The RS 6 Avant Performance will hit 60 mph in less than 3 seconds. But it is not just the straight-line speed, it is the agility that this car possesses that really makes it stand apart from the crowd. The RS 6 Avant has incredible performance, practicality, style, technology, comfort, and sound. It is quite simply the best car Audi has ever made.
