1. Emblem Removal

Shaved emblems is not for everyone, but if you are looking to clean up the car’s exterior, consider doing this quick mod. All you need is a heat gun or hair dryer (use at your own risk), razor blade, adhesive remover, microfiber rag and clay bar (optional). Carefully use the heat gun to soften the adhesive, then use the razor to separate the emblem from the car, being careful not to scratch the paint. Take your time to gently remove the emblem, especially if you want to use it again; putting too much strain on the emblem can cause it to break. Once the emblem is peeled off, use a heat gun to warm and remove any residual adhesive. Finally, use some paint-safe adhesive remover, and a microfiber towel to wipe the rest away. You may want to use a clay bar to polish the surface afterwards.

2. Vinyl Wrapped Interior Accents

Some of the coolest interior mods involve wrapping up trim pieces with special vinyl wrap. It's actually used a lot more commonly than people think, as vinyl wrap can do a great job adding accents to the interior. It can also make the center console look a lot more attractive. To do this mod, you need a heat gun. There’s no way around it, as its the only way to make the vinyl pliable. Make sure to use heat sparingly though, as it can also burn or melt the vinyl. This DIY goes into more detail for those of you that are interested.

3. Additional Cup Holder

I’m sure all B5 A4 owners have asked the question “why” when it comes to the awkward cup holder placement. The slide out holder on B5s are useless for most drinks, and just plain cumbersome. Fortunately there’s an easy fix for this, and involves a trip to your everyone's favorite shop[ping site, Amazon. A slide in, dual cup holder costs about $8 and slides in between the passenger seat and center console. This is so easy to install it is hardly a mod, and can be removed just by pulling it upwards when not in use.

4. Tow Hook

Following the trend of cheap and effective, a tow hook is a perfect item to add to the list. You can find aftermarket or OEM pieces for just under $20. They are good to have in your emergency roadside bag, just in case you ever find yourself in a ditch, and an anodized aluminum one adds a racy flair to your car. The hooks are also a must have for track days, just in case you need to be towed off the track, or out of the gravel. Besides its obviously functionality, they look pretty cool and some people choose to install them just for the aesthetics.

5. Custom Fit Floor Mats

Floor mats tend to get worn out, especially if you live in an area with a dramatic change of the seasons, and snow in the winter. Besides, the stock rubber mats aren’t necessarily the best things to look at. Fortunately there are quite a few resources to find replacement mats for your interior. Lloyds are best for budget folks looking at for custom embroidery, while COCO Mats are made from exceptional materials, and have quite a few different color combinations to choose from. Most custom mats use the available stock mounting locations, or their own proprietary mat fastening system. It is amazing the difference a new mat, or one in a contrasting color, can make tot he interior of your vehicle.
