1. A4/S4

Perhaps the biggest news surrounding Audi's compact sedan lineup is the return of the S4 after a one-year hiatus. For 2018, it's back with a vengeance and a 354 hp turbocharged 3.0-liter V6, backed up by an 8-speed automatic. Unfortunately, no manual transmission is available due to its inability to coexist with many of the car's active safety systems. And you're getting a conventional automatic because, well, Americans prefer them over dual-clutch gearboxes. Also for 2018, the Allroad wagon returns on the new A4 platform, packing only one drivetrain configuration - a 2.0-liter inline four cylinder producing 252 hp, 7-speed dual-clutch automatic, and on-demand all-wheel drive.

2. A5/S5

Both the A5 and S5 are new for 2018, and Audi is introducing a new body style alongside the convertible and coupe - a two-box Sportback. Opting for the A5 nets you a 252 hp turbocharged 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder, while the S5 comes with a 354 hp turbo 3.0-liter V6. The A5 sticks with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, while the S5 joins the S4 in utilizing a conventional 8-speed auto.

3. A6

Audi's A6 sedan is in line to receive a full redesign for 2019, so changes are few for 2018. The big news is that last year's Competition model becomes an option package for the A6 3.0T this year. Opting for the Competition package nets you unique wheels, a torque vectoring rear differential, stiffer suspension, and a 340 hp tune.

4. A8

Like the A6, a refreshed A8 is due next year with Level 3 autonomy and light-hybrid architecture. In the meantime, 2018 brings a wider availability of some driver assistance technology and option packages. If you can wait until next year, however, you'll get high-tech goodies like intelligent start/stop and automatic engine turnoff while coasting at moderate speeds.

5. Q5/SQ5

The Q5 and SQ5 are fresh off their first redesign, but they're still quite recognizable on the outside. Under the surface, however, you'll find several changes. The Q5 makes 32 more hp than before, wringing 252 ponies from its turbo 2.0-liter inline-four. The SQ5 uses a turbo V6 to produce 354 hp. Audi has taken steps to improve fuel efficiency in the A5 with a new Ultra all-wheel-drive system capable of decoupling the rear axle. Meanwhile, the SQ5 is available with goodies like adjustable air springs and a torque-vectoring rear differential more centered around performance.

6. Q8

Audi first introduced the sleek, A7-based Q8 SUV at the Detroit Auto Show, and now we're going to see it in showrooms sometime in 2018. The distinctively styled and sporty 'ute is more than just a design exercise, of course. Powertrain options include a V6, V8, possibly a hybrid, and an RS model with 500+ horsepower. Audi will also use the Q8 to roll out the latest version of its MMI infotainment system controlled almost completely by touchscreens.

7. RS3

American has waited a while to receive Audi's hottest hatchback, but they delivered us a sedan version instead. No matter, because this raucous ride packs a 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-five cylinder pumping out an impressive 400 hp. The pocket rocket also comes equipped with a tuned chassis and available staggered wheels and tires and carbon-ceramic brakes. And oh yes, it's fast.

8. RS5

Whether you choose a Sportback or coupe body style, Audi's latest RS5 packs a twin-turbo, 2.9-liter V6 producing a whopping 450 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque. With a conventional 8-speed automatic handling shifts, Audi claims their rocketship will run to 60 miles per hour in just 3.9 seconds. Bystanders will undoubtedly notice the wide fenders and giant front intakes, while your eyes will likely be glued to the shiny Virtual Cockpit instrumentation.

9. TT RS

If you like the RS3 but prefer your rocket ship in a more stylized two-door guise, Audi will gladly sell you a TT RS. It packs the same 2.5-liter inline five-cylinder with identical output - 400 hp. The only bad news? It'll cost you about ten grand more before you add any options.

10. Remaining Models

Most of the rest of the Audi lineup has received some sort of update for 2018, minus the carryover Q7, S6, and S8. The A3 and S3, A7, S7, and RS7, Q3, R8, TT, and TTS all receive minor trim changes for the new model year.
