The stuff of dreams

Here we have for sale the single vehicle that changed rallying while also making four-wheel drive a realistic feature for production cars. This Quattro has hit eBay for a crazy price and has just had some major regular repair work done.

Wie aufregend!

Per the description, this 1983 Ur-Quattro was delivered brand spanking new in Germany and was sold in 1991 to an owner in Colombia. The owner then exported the car to Florida and put some odd 38,000 miles on the odometer. Almost a decade ago the car was given a full glass-out new coat of paint in blue and received that cool four-ring decal on each side.

Aufregung!

Four months ago the car received its last service which included an air conditioning recharge, an oil change, and new brake pads. Since the car is a Euro spec, it has those spec headlamps, bumpers, headliner, and language differential controls in German!

Everything seems to be in order

The seller says that the 5-speed transmission is working great and sending power to all four wheels majestically. The Recaro-branded seats will hold you snugly in place while you dip and dive through imaginary corners and straights while sitting in your driveway. Also functioning are other bits such as the digital guage cluster and still working Blaupunkt radio.

Which one of you is buying this?

The car currently has a Buy It Now price of $47,900 or Best Offer to claim the legend. For those who may have forgotten or don't know, this is the car that walked all over most of the competition in the World Rally Championship. The Quattro placed in the top 5 EVERY season from 1981 and 1986 and taking home seasonal gold in 1982 and '84. North American models of the Ur-Quattro are scare and this well-driven Euro-market model is even rarer. Our advice is to ask your wife or financial advisor (or both) if there is any possibility of adding this one to the garage.
