New TT

The updates for the newest iteration of the Audi TT have been unveiled. Both the Coupe and Roadster variations will get some changes in styling, as well as the powertrain. Audi will also be adding items to the list of standard equipment on the new model.

Subtle But Effective

Starting at the front, the new TT will be sporting a new, slightly different grill mesh. The bumpers and exterior detailing receive Audi's subtle touch of finesse as well. With the optional S line package, you will get an even more aggressive and sporty look, including a front splitter, titanium grill, rocker inserts, more sporty air intakes at the front and rear, and a wider diffuser to go with the look.

Everyone Loves Bigger Wheels

Another area that Audi has extended the list of options for TT buyers is the variety of wheel choices. We will now have 18", 19", and 20" rims available for the TT. In addition, three new colors will be on offer this coming year: pulse orange, cosmos blue, as well as an S line exclusive color called turbo blue.

Virtual Cockpit

While the new TT will still have the standard 12.3-inch Audi virtual cockpit display, a new sport display is also available as an option. This addition will give the driver performance information about the car, including the engine's power and torque output, and the G-forces on the car.

Technology is Standard

The sport seats on the TT will have integrated head restraints with adjustable side bolsters on the S line package. Audi drive select handling system, rain and light sensors, heated side mirrors, and USB connectivity all come standard in the new model year.

Oh, and More Power

Also worth noting is the fact that there will be some additional power to play with as well. All three trims of the 2019 TT will come with 2.0-liter engines. The base model TT will have 195 HP and 236 lb-ft of torque. The 45 TFSI will produce 242 HP and 272 lb-ft, and lastly, the TTS will have about 300 HP and 300 lb-ft which can propel it from 0-60 in a reported 4.6 seconds! There are two transmission options available: a 6-speed manual, and a new 7-speed dual clutch.

Handling

The magnetic ride suspension system will ensure great ride quality AND a beautiful handling feel for the TT. It lowers the car by 10 mm to increase precision, while the S line package already has a lower ride height to start with. What's really cool about the TT when it comes to cornering is the wheel-selective torque control system. It works in mid-corners by applying brakes to the unloaded wheels during a turn.

Coming Soon

The wait is almost over to get your hands on the new TT if you're in Europe. Audi will be taking orders in September and starting prices are set at €35,000 for the Coupe and €37,000 for the Roadster. For American buyers, the wait will be a little bit longer as the car will likely be hitting the showrooms early next year.
