The New ABT RS7-R is Limited to Only 125 Units

ABT does not do understatement

You’d imagine that no one would need more power from the 2021 RS7 Sportback with its turbocharged 4-liter V8 engine but here we are. However, in Germany, there's such a richness in engineering skill that someone can always make your stock Audi RS-car, a bit faster. Which is exactly how this ABT creation happened. 

Edgy? Most certainly

Subtle is most certainly not a word you would use to describe the ABT RS7-R. The German aftermarket tuning company has given its interpretation of what a fast saloon should be. A disrupted geometric pattern surface wrap covers most of the car, blending with some radical styling upgrades.

Huge presence

This ABT upgrade gives the RS7 inarguable curbside posing credentials. Whereas the factory RS7 is elegant and powerful in its presence, this RS7-R by ABT is brash. Fortunately, the RS7’s large dimensions give the design a lot of capacity to absorb styling upgrades and although it is unusual, the ABT RS7-R doesn’t look odd. Menacing? Absolutely.

All the carbon - to balance airflow

Winglets are a major theme of the ABT exterior upgrade, serving mostly an aerodynamic function. Around the edges of the front bumper and fender area, you’ll find a collection of expertly crafted carbon-fiber spoilers. They might be very small in size, but combined, they also prevent excess aerodynamically induced lift on the front axle – at speed.

Watch those low parking garage entrance ramps

To further enhance the RS7-R’s aerodynamics package, ABT’s fashioned its own front lip spoiler. Attaching the lower bumper section, it is made from carbon-fiber (obviously) and has an angle of attack and total surface area, which has been carefully calculated. The aim is to increase stability, without inducing too much additional drag.

Rarity equals value

Aft of the front fenders, there are vents to circulate warm air from the wheel arches. These help keep the braking surfaces cool and ready for harsh performance. ABT is proud of its RS7-R being a limited-edition vehicle, and as such, there are striking red badges to claim its status.

Booming beat - guaranteed

Apart from the red piping framing the oversized rear diffuser, there are huge exhaust openings to spew out hot air. ABT knows that sound is important for any V8 Audi owners and with its enlarged diameter quad exhausts, the RS7-R is sure to resonate a mighty note during peak acceleration.

Red wheels go faster

ABT selected a 22-inch rim for the RS7-R that features thin spokes, to allow for optimal airflow into the braking system. With the red color detailing, these wheels also perfectly fit within the overall design theme, for this boldest of RS7s.

Shiny cover belies great power

At the heart of each great ABT upgrade, is the reality of more engine power. With its RS7-R, that is provided by some expert retuning of the 4-liter V8’s engine control software. A custom exhaust system also helps with the net result is 730hp. ABT also adds a custom engine cover, to make the engine bay that bit more special.
