Its not just about having the most power, but instead its about how you transfer it, how much traction you have and your own reaction time. Drag racing is great to show off your quick reflexes, your car’s power, and how well you put that power down, which is where quattro has an advantage. Some people may think Audi’s legacy is in rally and road racing, but check out these top 5 Audi dragsters.
5. Gorilla Racing Audi RS6
It's bittersweet that this untouchable Audi is on the list, because the C6 RS6 was never made available to us in the States. This version of the RS6 with a turbocharged V10 was available in the European market, and this one hails from Russia. What we have on display here is Gorilla Racing’s tuned and modified version, putting down 720 horsepower, through its AWD. Here you can see video of it easily devouring a Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG, as well as a Lamborgini Gallardo, with an average speed 11.9 second quarter at 117.4 mph. Not bad for a luxury sedan.

4. TST Racing Audi A3
Some of the best drag race cars, are those the people least expect, especially for grudge match racing. This A3 hits that special mark, producing a claimed 750 horsepower to the wheels. Its small lightweight body dramatically helps its power to weight ratio, but really with that much power anything would be fast. The engine is fully built and blueprinted with forged internals and a Garrett GT4294R turbo, which is responsible for that massive gain in power. 3. Tune 2 Race Audi S3
A quick look would have you scratching your head on whether or not this was the same car as the TST A3. Well, while the color schemes and intercooler setups and very similar, the time-slips are not. In fact, this Tune 2 Race S3 is so fast, its responsible for putting Greece drag racing on the map. This build consists of a 773 wheel horsepower 3.2L turbocharged V6 engine, featuring forged internals and a massive GT-k 1000 turbo. This car has gone viral on YouTube, as well as appeared in the AutoKinisi magazine and hit numbers as low as 8.806” at 176 mph at the track.

2. AWE Tuning Audi S4 Silver Bullet
Built and tuned by German company AWE Tuning, this S4 has a 2.7L V6 with its standard 6-speed transmission and upgraded RS4 KO4 turbocharger. AWE spent countless hours upgrading the chassis, including the installation of a full adjustable Ultra suspension and Mintex Red Box brake pads, however, the real magic is in the programming. AWE spent countless hours adjusting this car's ECU for more boost and power, making it into an all-around monster. For example, it can run a quarter-mile at 11.9 seconds at 121.5mph. While the specifications make it sound like a race ready monster, the Silver Bullet was actually tuned for street use. Fun Fact: This car gained so much popularity that it was featured as a secret unlockable item in the FORZA 2 video game.

1. Aaron Crossley Audi Coupe Quattro
A quick look through the list and you’ll notice at trend here, most of these cars are built by specialty tuner shops. While those builds certainly deserve recognition, nothing shows more perseverance than a home-built racing machine. Aaron Crossley poured his heart and soul into this car, making it one of the fastest Audi Quattro coupes in the world, running a 9.78” at 145.90 MPH quarter mile. Powering it is a 2.0 stroker engine has an AWP ported head, ST Valve springs, CAT solid lifters, and Borg Warner FMW 67mm 1.25 A/R Turbocharger. A Clutchmasters FX725 twin disc clutch with PAR Dog Bog gear kit, and welded center differential helps put all the power to the ground. While this project took years, the passion to detail and tuning Aaron put into his Quattro makes his car our number one Audi drag car.
