Push It Real Good

Nobody would ever accuse the Audi TT RS of being slow. But then again, horsepower is a lot like potato chips - you can simply never have enough. So you can't blame the owner of this insane TT RS, Keith Dempsey, for wanting to push his car to the absolute limit.

Ramp It Up

When the TT RS first debuted, it was quite the revelation over the original base car, which produced a mere 180 hp. Opting for the RS ramped that number up to an impressive 360 hp, with 343 lb-ft of torque on tap as well.

Recipe For Fun

Throw in all-wheel drive and a low 3,300-pound curb weight, and you've got a pretty good recipe for fun. But Dempsey obviously wanted more. So he yanked his stock 2.5-liter mill and built it up with top-notch internals to handle what was to come.

Keep It Together

On the inside, that meant installing goodies including Mahle PowerPak pistons, Schrick cams, and ARP head studs to keep everything together when Dempsey decided to crank the boost up to 11.

Mega Boost

Next, Dempsey sourced a Xona Rotor 9567 turbocharger to crank up the boost. Running on E85 required a pair of Walbro 450 fuel pumps to feed the hungry beast, but this combo paid off with a dyno rating of 867 hp and 600 lb-ft of torque at 40 psi.

Turning the Corner(s)

Dempsey didn't want to just have a straight-line performer here, however. So he also upgraded the suspension with KW DDC coilovers, front and rear sway bars, and a set of nice and sticky Toyo Proxes R888R rubber.

Staggering Machine

The result is a staggering machine capable of some impressive numbers, no matter what type of track you're talking about.

Worth The Effort

Early Audi TT RS examples aren't easy to come by in the U.S., thanks to relatively low production numbers. But as we can clearly see from this wicked build, finding one is certainly worth the effort.
