You Can Now Have a 1000HP RS Q8 SUV

Huge wheels and power boost for Audi's RS Q8.

By Lance Branquinho - September 15, 2020

Mean green machine

This RS Q8 might be green, but don't let the color fool you. Beneath the calming paint finish, is a hugely powerful evolution of Audi's sloping roofline SUV. The factory RS Q8 is wonderfully potent, but there will always be those who desire more. And if you need a monumental power increase for your RS Q8, Wheelsandmore is the outfit you need to contact.

An appearance that belies the potency

The Wheelsandmore RS Q8 does not look that much different from Audi's factory build. It rolls larger wheels, but there aren't many dramatic styling upgrades. Wheelsandmore has decided to build a proper SUV 'sleeper' with its RS Q8 upgrade kit.

Coding for more power

The most significant bits of this Wheelsandmore kit, are ones which are hidden from view. Take this engine control module. Wheelsandmore has taken the liberty to reconfigure it, allowing for more relaxed operational parameters. This allows the RS Q8's 4-liter turbocharged V8, to be a lot more aggressive in its compression and ignition sequencing.

Pretty metalwork that works

Gas flow porting and control are crucial elements for Wheelsandmore, in its desire to produce the ultimate RS Q8 performance SUV. Customer crafted inlet and outlet components replace the factory Audi bits, on Wheelsandmore' RS Q8. This allows for better airflow and superior exhaust gas extraction, improving energy conversion.

Shiny bits that help with boost

The RS Q8 makes 591hp, in the factory tune. But Wheelsandmore knew that Audi's 4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 was capable of a lot more. By adding its own custom turbocharger airflow hardware, and recoding the engine's electronics, Wheelsandmore has liberated an awesome power increase. It might sound unbelievable, but Wheelsandmore benchmarked the Bugatti Veyron, in terms of peak power output, with its RS Q8 project.

Capable of making a big V8 beat

Ensuring that owners who decided to opt for its upgrade kit, get the very best sound signature from their RS Q8, Wheelsandmore has applied some trick exhaust wizardry. By calculating the flow rate and surface area, their craftspeople have managed to build an exhaust system that has a perfect pressure profile and also sounds tremendous. Resonating a deep V8 beat, at full throttle.

Just short of a four figure power output

Exactly how potent is this Wheelsandmore RS Q8 upgrade kit? The German aftermarket tuner claims no less than 996hp, which is within a whisper of the Bugatti Veyron. Supporting that near 1000hp power statistic is a crush of torque, totaling 992 lb-ft. Wheelsandmore is not making any performance claims for its RS Q8 upgrade, but suffice to say: those engine output numbers tell a story of their own.

Big power costs big money

Attempting to balance the Wheelsandmore RS Q8's power with traction, are massive wheels. Flared fenders and large wheel arches allow room for some big rubber and Wheelsandmore have taken full advantage of Audi's RS Q8 design, in respect of possible tire and wheel size. It rolls 24-inch alloy wheels, equipped with Vredestein tires. At the front, those tires are 295/30 and at the rear, they are supercar-rivaling in width, at 355/25. A truly radical upgrade kit, with respect to performance, the Wheelsandmore RS Q8 does not come cheap. If you wish to convert your RS Q8 to Wheelsandmore specification, the price is $47 000.
