Make & model of car the product was used on: 1997 A4Q 2.8

Product Description: Studless snow-tire

When they came out, Michelin Blizzaks were a novelty; they claimed to provide superior traction on snow and ice, without studs. Being studless, they seemed ideal for use in an area with only about 30 days of snow at the house per year, but no warning before/after, especially as they allow for normal highway speeds.

The obvious comparison is to the stock Goodyears. The Blizzaks do indeed provide superior snow and ice traction over the stock tires. They also are enormously quieter; it's astonishing how much road noise comes from the Goodyears.

There is a cost though; the Blizzaks provide squirmy handling at all times, even on dry pavement. It feels like riding on an inch of jello or foam. This slows the dry handling considerably. Additionally, while the Blizzaks beat the stock Goodyears in harsh conditions, they seem a bit inferior to the Yokohama Guardexes experienced on another car. Lastly, the Blizzaks provided a larger impact on ice than on snow. (I'm not sure if this is because they're good on ice or because the stock tires are good on snow.)

Bottom line: Next time I'll try Guardexes on this pup.
