Toyo T1-S tire
The Toyo T1-S tread pattern

Overall Look - The tire looks quite aggressive and has a similar tread design to that of the Bridgestone SO-2 and Dunlop SP9000 tire. The tire, in 225/40/18 size, also has a very useful rim protector that handled my AEZ Bimo 18X8.5" wheel just fine. Which is always a plus. When my set of four Toyo T1-S tires arrived I was struck by the shear size of the tire sipes...they are huge...slightly larger than those of the Bridgestone S-02 tires. That tread design will definitely help when driving in the rain.

Driving Impressions / Highway Cruising - The tire is relatively quiet at highway cruising speeds, it doesn't wander or dart, and generally keeps a straight track at speed. The tire is responsive in a slalom, but definitely not in the same league as most R compound tires (Kumho VictoRacer, BFG g-force R1, etc)...but then again, it wasn't meant to be.

Driving Impressions / Performance Driving - When approaching the limit the tire seems to be very predictable and stable. While I didn't have any chances to really test the tire in an aggressive manner, as in an autocross event or high performance driving event, I did manage to take some freeway onramps at considerable speed with big grin plastered on my face.

Driving Impressions / Adverse Weather - While I didn't have any extensive time in adverse weather conditions, I did get a change to drive my car through some decent standing water and was impressed with the responsiveness of the wheel, and the lack of hydroplaning. With the tread design, one can tell that these tires might not be the best for snow and ice, but then again, that is not what they were designed for.

Projected Life - With a treadwear rating of 280, it is anticipated that these tires should last a decent amount of time. With the short period of time I have had to drive on them, I can only speculate the amount of miles each tire should last. I am pretty confident that the T1-S tire should last at least 15,000 miles with normal use.

Availability/Where to Buy - The Toyo Tire line is currently not available for purchase through either TireRack.com or DiscountTireDirect.com. Toyo tires are sold through retail shops nationwide. Please refer to Toyo Tire website for a dealer near you. Their website is located at: http://www.toyo.com

Overall Impression - I like them
