Just bought a set of (4)Bridgestone Potenza RE940's from Costco in Honolulu, HI.  They were only $428 for (4), including mounting!!!  So far, they are excellent and they really shine in the wet where my stock Dunlop's SP Sport 8000 would slide around a bit.  There is a little more tire noise than the Dunlop's but it is hardly noticeable.  I bought these tires since they were the cheapest set I could find with a "ZR" rating.  It is too early to judge on tire wear but I had the same set of tires put on my older 1990 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX and the tire wear was minimal.  So I would have to give these tires a thumbs up.

I just bought 4 Bridgestone Potenza RE940s at Costco in Tustin, CA for $490 (including mounting, mandatory California disposal charge, etc.). I must say I'd be impressed at almost any price. I was concerned about the possibility of increased road noise, but it's less than minimal. The real icing on the cake, though, is that the new tires have reduced the marked understeer I'd always noticed with the stock Dunlops.  I'm very pleased with my purchase.
